Nitto Seiko has developed the JOISTUD clinching stud.
In July 2023, to meet the demand for higher precision and superior product quality, Nitto Seiko developed JOISTUD-S to minimize warpage and burrs while delivering greater anti-rotation strength. Leveraging manufacturing and die-making technologies, they developed JOISTUD-HT with high anti-rotation strength, JOISTUD-SS with space-saving functionality, JOISTUD-WP with waterproofing capability, and high-strength JOISTUD-S. JOISTUD-WP is a product featuring waterproof functionality. Like JOISTUD-S, JOISTUD-HT can be simply press-fitted onto fastening elements, achieving higher product quality than before and providing robust support for customers' production operations.
Conventional bolts typically use uniform, thick leaf-shaped anti-rotation protrusions. In contrast, the JOISTUD series features anti-rotation protrusions with a ring-like design only at the edges of the leaf shape. This anti-rotation protrusion design also prevents lifting of the fastener. Furthermore, the groove inside the anti-rotation protrusion accommodates deformation of the fastener during press-fitting, preventing the deformed portion from protruding toward the screw thread and forming burrs, while simultaneously enhancing anti-rotation strength in the rotational direction.
